Charge

1. Examine the UNCA bookstore, the Ramsey Library, and the UNCA computer center and other information service areas as needed.  This examination will be done in light of the development of students and in the context of the reports from the Chancellor's Task Forces on Diversity, Retention, and Partnerships and from the Learning Circles on Student Development.  This examination includes documenting current activities, policies, and practices in the above designated programs, setting goals for these programs and the coordination of these programs based on student development guidelines from the Learning Circles, and recommendations for how these goals might best be met.
   
2. Coordinate resource services review and recommendations with other enhancement self-study committees as relevant. 
   
3. Prepare a written report on the resource services review to be included in the enhancement portion of UNCA's SACS self-study.  Preliminary and final reports should be given to Sherry Gale, the director of the enhancement portion of the self-study, by January 15, 2001 and May 1, 2001, respectively.  These reports should be written in four sections: a) summary of current activities, policies, and practices; b) goals; c) recommendations and rationale; d) identification of resource and/or structural changes needed to implement recommendations.
   
4. Follow through with formal recommendations on UNCA's resource services to the appropriate university governance structures by spring, 2002.
