Babies, Bikes and Broads Book Talk

Ramsey Library Special Collections is pleased to announce a new series:

Brown Bag Book Talks
with UNC Asheville Faculty Authors

The Brown Bag Book Talk series continues on Thursday, March 5 from 12:30-1:30, with Cynn Chadwick, Lecturer in the Literature and Language Department, who will read from and discuss her latest novel, Babies, Bikes and Broads: The Third Book in the Cat Rising Series (Bywater Books, 2008).

All book talks will take place in Special Collections, upper level of D. H. Ramsey Library, on the UNC Asheville campus. Bring your lunch and join us for a stimulating book talk.

Are You Preparing for Grad School?

The Ramsey Library website provides access to interactive practice tests and tutorials for academic and licensing tests including the GRE, GMAT, LSAT, & MCAT and the Praxis.

The coursework can be accessed from the Ramsey Library website by clicking Research Databases, then clicking Title List. Navigate to the L listing on the alphabetical title index and select Learning Express Library. Once on the Learning Express website, click the College Students link under the heading “Learning Centers” on the left hand side of the page. From there, click the Graduate School Entrance Exam Preparation link. A second list will then appear. Select an exam preparation module. Click the Login to Add link to the right of the selection. You will be asked to create a unique username and password for accessing scores and keeping track of their progress.

Please make a note of this username/password. Ramsey Library has no access to this information and cannot help you should you lose or forget your access information.

Principles of Physical Optics Talk

The series continues on Tuesday, February 24 from 12:30-1:30, with Dr. Chuck Bennett, Professor of Physics, who will discuss the trials and tribulations of authoring Principles of Physical Optics (Wiley, 2008).

What's In Our Collection?

The University of North Carolina Libraries has just conducted an inventory of member schools' library collections. The inventory determined each library's holdings, sorted by subject, as well as the uniqueness of the holdings.
