So, you're finishing up your undergraduate studies . . .
What next? There are numerous opportunities for you out there if you want to further your education. Perhaps you want to join the ranks of those in academe and earn that Ph.D. Or maybe a law school, medical school, or professional degree is what you're after.

Starting Places & Essential Sites 

Petersons.com - "the education supersite," allows you to search over 30,000 graduate programs, explore financial aid and grant opportunites, download information about the GRE and other graduate examinations, take part in a grad school discussion forum, and lots more. 

Gradschools.com - search over 40,000 graduate program listings by subject and visit the student forum for additional grad school links. 

Yahoo! College Search - an excellent resource for locating colleges and universities offering degrees in specific programs.

ETS.org (The Educational Testing Service Network) - official gateway to information about the GRE, GMAT, the Praxis Series, and TOEFL exams. Provides sample test questions, test preparation tips, and test registration information.  

GRE OnLine - introduction to the Graduate Record Exam, including sample questions, tips on getting started, and an online registration form.  

LSAT - the official Web site of the Law School Admission Council provides preparation information about the LSAT, as well as information on applying to law school.  

GMAT - learn about applying to graduate business school and preparing for the GMAT from the Graduate Management Admission Council's MBA Explorer site. 

MCAT - get information about the Medical College Admissions test from this official page by the Association of American Medical Colleges.   
 
Financial Aid, Grants & Scholarships  

fastWEB! - "the Internet's largest free scholarship search" indexes more than 400,000 scholarhips.      

FinAid - a huge site created by Mark Kantrowitz with links to practically every financial aid resource on the Web.  

Grants in Graduate Studies (GIGS) (at NYU) - a database of grants for graduate and post-graduate students, provided by U.S. government, international, corporate and private funding agencies.

Graduate Fellowships Database (at Notre Dame) - a database of recent fellowships, grants, and awards available to graduate students.

Scholarship Enhancement Program (at CUNY) - provides links to several scholarship and fellowship programs, including the Fulbright Program, the Mellon Fellowship, the Ford Foundation Fellowship, the NSF Graduate Fellowship, and others. 

Scholarship Search from College Board Online - find scholarships, loans, internships, and other financial aid programs that match your education level, talents, and background.  

U.S. Department of Education, Office of Post-secondary Education - offers several useful financial aid links, including The Student Guide for the current year.
