PURPOSE OF THIS COURSE: After taking Library Research 101, you should;

• be familiar with the location of different materials in Ramsey Library (for example: books, journals, microforms, media materials, etc.)
• be familiar with the various services offered at Ramsey Library
• know how to use the computerized library catalog
• know how to make efficient use of essential library research tools (for example: periodical indexes in both printed and electronic forms)
• be able to find government publications
• be able to select appropriate sources for specific research needs
• be able to locate and use resources on computer networks outside the library

6. Textbook: Introduction to Library Research, Sixth Edition, 1996. Please bring your textbook to every class meeting.
