1.             Read the letter Pauline Dresser Merrill, youngest sister of Edith Vanderbilt, wrote to Mrs. T. S. Viele.   Notice the careful observation of the environment and the attention to the daily activity at Biltmore of Pauline Merrill.

 

2.             Write a 2-3 page letter to one of  your family members or friends describing a day in the new environment in which you find yourself at UNCA. Pay particular attention to your daily activity and to the visual world around you. Attach the letter to this worksheet.

 

3.             While this summary of activity is partially based on your best guess, try to estimate your expected activity patterns.
