The role of Technical Services is to order, receive, catalog, and process, books, journals, and media materials, and to provide the computer-based access and control necessary to deliver library and information services to our faculty, students, and staff.

As head of Technical Services, I am responsible for the following components of this process:

• Staff supervision and training
• System administration of the integrated library automation system
• Site manager library telecommunications
• Cataloging and classification, as time permits
• Liaison with library vendors (OCLC, SOLINET, III, etc.)
• Programming library computer applications

I also serve as book selector and subject bibliographer for the following areas:

Computer science
Engineering
Mathematics
Philosophy
Physics
