Svenson's black and white macro portraits uniquely explore the mainstreaming of this "once revolutionary and avant-garde" form of physical adornment.
Svenson, who serves as Campus Auditoria Manager, bought his first
camera at the age of twelve and has been taking photographs since.
He holds a bachelor's degree in art history from New York
University. Svenson was the recipient of a grant from the National
Endowment for the Arts for his video production "Wahconah Revisited"
in 1988 and has credits on dozens of educational and instructional
video productions.
