Comments: "On the evening of Friday, 25 October 1946 the Cambridge Moral Science Club . . . held one of its regular meetings."  So begins this account of a ten minute confrontation between Professor Ludwig Wittgenstein and Dr. Karl Popper, two of the day's leading philosophers, which ended with Wittgenstein doing "something" with a poker and exiting the room.  Edmonds' and Eidinow's fascinating exploration frequently returns to the accounts of the many observers while exploring each philosopher's basic beliefs, differing socio-economic beginnings, and their experiences as assimilated Jews in early 20th century Vienna.
